School Lunch
Dietary Philosophy
We believe what we eat matters. That’s why our kitchen serves 100% homestyle vegetarian meals made with care. We aim to provide our students with top-quality and nutritious hot lunches throughout the entire school year with locally-sourced or organic ingredients. All meals are plant-based and freshly cooked daily.
Why Vegetarian
We believe a cruelty-free, minimally processed, vegetarian diet that is free from artificial flavors, food colorings and/or preservatives helps nurture compassion, kindness, as well as help kids make smarter food choices that benefit the body, mind, spirit, and the planet. Studies have shown that students who eat healthy perform better academically and emotionally.
ero Waste
Here at Dharma Realm School, students and teachers practice frugality and mindfulness when eating. They understand the food on their plate requires hard work and dedication, from farmers planting and harvesting to the kitchen staff washing, preparing, and cooking the food. Our students and staff practice not wasting food and take only how much they can eat.
Lunch Application
To apply for school lunch, submit a completed form to info@cdrigdvs.org. Students who choose to bring their own lunch need to make sure their lunch is lacto-vegetarian, containing no eggs, onion, garlic, chives, shallots, leeks. Please note that there is no microwave available on campus for students to reheat their lunches.
Payment Plan
See tuition page for pricing. Families can break down lunch payments into manageable installments, including monthly, quarterly if fees cannot be paid in full. Late payments are not allowed and could incur a late fee. Payments are not refundable. Any unused lunch money due to student absences will not be lost and will be transferred to the next payment cycle.
Monthly Plan: Payments are due at the end of each month.
Quarterly Plan: Two payments, typically due at the end of August and January.
Single Payment Plans: Payments typically due in August.
